Settling In

We FINALLY have internet at our house, which means I can FINALLY write my first post of 2016!

With that being said, HAPPY 2016, y'all!!

11 days into the year and our lives have completely turned upside down. I started classes at Georgia Southern this morning, we're slowly getting everything unpacked and put away and we're starting to learn what small-town life is all about.

Let me tell you, we are definitely not in Jacksonville anymore that's for sure. It's crazy what a difference a two-hour car ride makes. It's like a whole different world up here and I have to keep reminding myself that this is where we live now. My mind keeps tricking itself into thinking that we're just visiting. I've been on an emotional roller coaster since we got here. I miss home so much, but the excitement and eagerness I have to start a life in Statesboro seems overpower the sadness.

It'll take some time but I think I'm going to like it here. Plus I'm just a hop, skip and a jump away from the beautiful city of Savannah and a hop, skip and a leap from my family and friends back in Jacksonville.

For the first day of classes I decided to keep things simple when it came to my outfit. Good thing because the day did NOT go as I meticulously planned. My car was completely frozen over {& I don't have heat in my car} causing me to leave an hour later than I wanted to. I didn't have time to get my parking permit. I couldn't find one of my classes {come to find out the class I originally went to was actually the right class} and to top it all off I was freezing my ass off because apparently it gets freaking cold here.

To be fair, my day could have been a lot worse, but I'm so thankful that it wasn't. K, now back to my outfit.

Pikos have been my go-to for the last few months because they're so stinkin' comfortable and pair well with just about everything! I think I have one in almost every color. Oops! I found this shawl on Black Friday and haven't gotten the chance to wear it until now. I ended up bunching it up and wearing it as a scarf because I was an icicle this morning, but later in the afternoon I was able to wear it how it was meant to be worn. I love how versatile it is!

I paired the top and shawl with these ADORABLE Tommy Hilfiger boots I found for a steal at Rack Room and called it a day!

What'd you wear on your first day of school/classes?
