Mini Old Navy Haul + My First Mother's Day
I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend! I hosted my first Mother’s Day Brunch on Saturday and it turned out better than I imagined. I got a majority of my table decor from TJ Maxx and picked up a couple things from Walmart as well. I was going for a “garden party” theme and I think it turned out pretty dang good! We served finger foods and a few desserts (i.e. pigs in a blanket, hot ham + cheese sandwiches, veggie tray, fruit trifle, cream cheese danish, etc) and had mom-osas (orange juice, cranberry juice, rose champagne) + mini-mosas (strawberry watermelon crystal light with sparkling cider).
We spent the day with friends and family and had a really great time. It was so nice to have all of us together- I actually think that’s the first time my mom, grandma, sister and I have all been together for Mother’s Day! Celebrating Mother’s Day as a new mama was the highlight of the weekend. I kept looking at Aria thinking how lucky I am to have such a beautiful, sweet, healthy little baby. We are so incredibly blessed and this weekend was a great reminder of that.
Saturday evening we headed out for a little Mother’s Day shopping (what my mom, grandma and I do best!) at the outlets and I found some really great pieces at Old Navy that I wanted to share with y’all. They’re having a promo right now for 30% off your entire purchase and giving out super cash- which is too great not to pass up!
Wasn’t sure how I’d feel about this dress because I’m not a big form-fitting dress type of girl, but I was pleasantly surprised by how great this fit! It’s form-fitting, but hugs all the right places. I’m wearing the large and planning on grabbing it in sold black, too! Currently $18.20 after 30% discount.
I thought I would like this dress more than I actually did. I wanted to like it, but it did nothing for my shape. I already have a pretty rectangular-shaped body, so I had to put this one back. I think it would be SUPER cute with a belt on someone with more of an hourglass figure. I’m wearing the large. Currently $25.39 after 30% discount.
I used to be obsessed with rompers in high school (when it wasn’t cool to wear them…) and then when everyone else started wearing them I didn’t want to anymore, lol! This is the first romper I’ve purchased in YEARS and I have to say.. I’ve missed them. This one is so comfy and flowy and I love the polka dot print. My only complaint is that the straps don’t adjust. They fit fine, but getting the romper over my shoulders is a bit of a challenge. Wearing a size large. Currently $34.99 (30% doesn’t apply to this print). There are several other cute prints that are cheaper though!
I own way too many sweaters and the fact that I bought this one when it’s 90° outside every day is just ridiculous. But it was only $7 and I love a good colorblock. I’ve been obsessing over bright colors this season, so buying it was a no-brainer. This specific color is only available in sizes XS-M, but it’s only $5.58 after the 30% discount!! There’s a super cute yellow striped one that’s even cheaper, plus two other really cute options! I’m wearing the large.
As I’m uploading this picture, I realize that I might need to take a trip to Arizona soon… This is the second cactus shirt I’ve gotten in the last month. I don’t know what it is about them, but I’m obsessed with these mini graphic tees! There are a bunch of different designs and just about all of them have a tank top option, too. It’s a comfy everyday tee, perfect for summer! I’m wearing the large. It’s currently $10.49 after the 30% discount.
I was debating uploading this picture, but I decided to do it anyway. I don’t know about y’all, but I’ve seen this bathing suit pop up everywhere so I decided to give it a try. I love a good one-piece swimsuit, but being heavy-chested makes it very difficult to buy a suit that has anything other than two thick straps. I love the way it looks, but because it’s one-shoulder I felt like I might give a little show if I moved the wrong way. It’s so so cute though if you’re smaller-chested or if you dgaf about your tatas slipping out, lol. I’m wearing the large, but I probably could’ve gone up to XL for a little more room. It’s $31.50 after the 30% discount and comes in three other colors.
I used to wear shorty shorts and not have a care in the world, but being a mom changes things. I’ve been on the hunt for a good pair of “mom” jeans and have had no luck. I had high hopes for this pair, but I was let down. They’re so cute on my size 2 little sister, but they were not working for this size 12 mama. They’re a boyfriend fit so I knew they’d be a little loose, but I just didn’t like the way they fit me. I’m very picky about how my shorts fit though, so I’d suggest trying them for yourself. I tried on the size 12. They’re only $17.50 after the 30% discount.
I wasn’t 100% on these jeans when I tried them on and was planning on putting them back, but my mom grabbed them out of my hand and bought them for me. (Thanks, mom!) I love the way they look/fit, the length is just a little too short for me. They’re ankle jeans, so they’re meant to be shorter but Old Navy’s jeans tend to be too short for me even when I buy long sizes. I’m wearing them today though and I’m so glad I got them because they’re extremely comfortable! I wore lace up sandals to disguise the shortness and you can’t even tell. (Not like anyone would be able to tell they were too short, but still..) They’ll definitely be great for tucking into boots in the fall/winter though! I’m wearing the 12. I can’t find the regular size online, so I’m assuming they’re sold out. I did find a plus-size option ($29.97) and linked a bunch of their ankle-length options here.
I also linked two cute things Gia got for Aria!
My mom and sister left Sunday morning, but we went to lunch with Chad’s family that afternoon to celebrate Mother’s Day with them. The rest of the day was spent loving on my sweet girl (and guy) and just reveling in how great the whole weekend was.
