Styled: Denim Vest in the Summer Heat
I'm not the biggest fan of the summer heat, but I do love a great summer outfit!
I decided to take a break from all of the #NSale posts to talk about a recent outfit I put together.
Summer, for me, is all about staying cool and trying to not look like a hoochie. (Wearing clothes really just sucks a lot when it's hot outside) Summer is definitely my least favorite season for the sole reason that I just can't stand being hot!
I've been trying to push myself this summer to find outfits that keep me cool, but are also cute enough to blog. It's hard for me to feel comfortable when I'm hot, so I try to wear clothes that are both comfortable and breathable.
I've been wanting a denim vest forever and have been going back and forth about whether or not I should buy one. My arms have always been something I haven't been fond of showing off, but wearing long sleeves in the summer just doesn't work out too well.
A friend of mine was giving this vest away, so I figured it was the perfect opportunity to try it out. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I loved it!
I love the way the vest looked with this tank. Sometimes pieces in your closet get worn so often they tend to lose their sparkle. That's how I was feeling about my tank until I put the denim vest over it. Boom! A brand new look with the same old shirt!
These jeggings are from American Eagle and seriously so comfortable I could wear them everyday. My top is from a boutique I cannot remember the name of for the life of me, but I've linked similar ones below! The vest is also from American Eagle, but I can't find the exact one so I've linked similar ones for y'all! My shoes are old, but I've linked similar ones to those as well!
Creating new outfits with clothes you already have is actually pretty fun! It helps satisfy my need for new looks, but keeps my bank account full. I'd say that's a win-win!
How has your summer been going? What cute summer outfits have you put together? Let me know in the comments below!
Hope you beauties are having a great Sunday!
P.S. Shout out to Kels for taking such great pictures- thanks, girl!
