10 Encouraging Bible Verses for the Anxious Heart

I’ve always always had a bit of an anxious heart, but I’ve noticed that my anxiety has been off the charts here recently. I’ve found so much comfort in the Word lately, that I thought I’d share 10 encouraging verses that I hope will bring YOU comfort when that meddling anxiety sets in.

Psalm 16:8 | I know the LORD is always with me. I will not be shaken, for He is right beside me.

Isaiah 41:10 | Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

Matthew 6:34 | So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

Luke 10:41-42 | But the Lord answered her, ‘Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.’

Philippians 4:6-7 | Don’t worry about anything: instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

John 14:1 | Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.

Psalm 94:19 | When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy.

Matthew 11:28 | Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.

Proverbs 12:25 | Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up.

1 Peter 5:6-7 | Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

I made a little graphic that you can save so you can always keep these verses nearby and reference them when you’re feeling anxious! Set it as your background, screenshot it and tag me (@briannamdillon) on your Instagram story- I want to know what your favorite verse is!
