Cheers to 2016!

I can't seem to find the right words to describe 2015. The best way I can describe it is to say it was a roller coaster of a year. It's been a year full of making mistakes and big life decisions, all while gaining a little bit of knowledge along the way.

Before I get into my resolutions for 2016, I want to do a little recap of my resolutions from last year.

My resolutions from last year were to be more present, be more open-minded, read more, make more meaningful friendships, keep writing, focus more on the positive, make school a priority, be healthier, build up my self-esteem, spend more time with my family, launch Charm of the South* and do more things that make me happy

I'd like to say I kept all of my resolutions but we all know how difficult that is. I've read more this year and kept up my writing, so those two are checked off the list. The rest of my resolutions are still a work in progress.

* Charm of the South was an idea I had similar to what The Buxom Blonde is now, just with a different name.

There are a lot of things I'd like to accomplish this year, like make more time for my family {since I'm going to have to drive two and a half hours whenever I want to see them}, get a puppy friend for Daisy Bug so she's not so lonely all the time and make new friends in Georgia, but I've only listed the most important/long-term resolutions here.

2016 Resolutions

Learn as Much as Possible

I've never been a big fan of classes or schoolwork, but I do love learning new things. I want this year to be full of learning- not the kind of learning that happens from mistakes and life choices. I want to start learning by reading good books and experiencing new things.

Live a Healthier Lifestyle

It's time, y'all. It's time to finally get my butt in shape. I think moving to Georgia will definitely help when it comes to being more active. I think my biggest issue is that I love to eat good food and I love to get comfy on my couch with Netflix. I don't want to just start eating things I don't like in the name of being healthy, but I do want to cut back on the junk food and get my blood pumping every once in awhile.

Continue to Pursue My Dreams

As most of you know I'm transferring to Georgia Southern to pursue my dream of becoming a personal stylist/fashion writer. I'm making the big leap and moving away from home to follow my dream and I want to make sure I continue that trend in 2016.

Develop My Personal Style

I like to think I have a pretty good sense of style, but I constantly find myself looking to others for inspiration. Obviously looking to others you admire for inspiration is a good thing, but I tend to get upset when I can't get an outfit exactly right or it doesn't end up looking how I thought it would. I want to expand my wardrobe this year and continue to develop a sense of style that's all my own.

I know some people think making New Year Resolutions is cliché, but I think it's important to have a written list of goals for you to reference whenever you need a little refresher. Print them out, hang them up on a wall. Keep them as a daily reminder to become a better version of yourself this year.

So here's to 2016- I hope it's filled with everything you wish for!

What are your resolutions? Share them with me! Let's help each other reach our goals.
