10 Things You Should Do Every Day

MAKE YOUR BED

I've gotten into the habit of making my bed every morning before I leave for class and it's such a refreshing feeling coming home to it. Routine is important. Doing something as simple as making your bed every morning can help with creating a daily routine!

WASH YOUR FACE

I can't stress enough how important proper skincare is. Taking care of your skin is so easy, but a lot of us tend to put it off. I'm so guilty of this! I was gifted the Clarisonic Mia 2 Brush and I can't even begin to explain how much of a difference it's made for my skin. I've also done a couple of other posts on skincare products here and here. Keeping your skin fresh and clean helps prevent acne and even wrinkling!

MAKE A TO-DO LIST

I'm a big fan of to-do lists. The planner I'm using this year is from Day Designer and has so many to-do list sections it makes my heart sing. Rounding up all of the important things you need to do for the day will help you stay on track and stay organized. If you're not into physically writing things down, the app Wunderlist is wonderful for keeping track of your to-do's!

WRITE DOWN SOMETHING YOU'RE GRATEFUL FOR

It's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life. Because of that we tend to take the little things for granted. Write down something you're grateful for everyday- whether it's in your planner or in a note on your phone- so you can look back if you're having an off day. Remind yourself of how great your life really is!

Take five minutes for yourself

Let's be real- Life is stressful. Sometimes too stressful. Taking a few minutes for yourself everyday allows you to step outside of whatever is going on in your life and just focus on you. 

Spend time outdoors

I used to hate being outdoors, but the older I get, the more I enjoy it. Surrounding yourself with nature, even just for a few minutes, has been proven to reduce stress, help cope with pain or anger and improve your overall mood. Go for a walk. Have a picnic. Take your dog to the dog park. It's so easy to find something to do outdoors!

EXERCISE

One of my goals this year was to become more health-conscious. I can tell you from experience that working out doesn't only improve your physical health, but your mental health. My confidence level has been boosted since I started exercising regularly and my stress level and decreased drastically. Whether it's a quick run or walk or an intense gym session, incorporating exercise into your daily routine is a must!
